Integrative Medicine Seminar Series
This popular free series, the first Friday of the month, offers the latest in CAM research and patient-centerd care, plus teaches tools for self-care and mind-body modalities that can be incorporated into patient care. Recent programs included workshops on Healing Touch, recent studies in acupuncture, and a community symposium on The New Medicine. Your contribution will help pay for speaker honorariums, space rental, and coordination and publicity for these programs.
Integrative Diabetes Prevention and Self-management Program
This innovative pilot project, funded by a small seed grant from the Blue Cross/Blue Shield of NC Foundation, is developing an education and outreach campaign and a program of mind-body interventions to help minority populations in a rural area prevent and manage Type II diabetes.
We are seeking funds to pay for a Spanish-language health educator and translator, to buy glucose testing equipment for community diabetes screenings,
Your contribution will also help build a strong foundation for the core faculty, staff, and facilities necessary to achieve these goals. Please contact Program Director Susan Gaylord with your questions about specific funding opportunities: 919-966-8586, gaylords@med.unc.edu
